Flexible chain cable, also commonly known as drag chain cable, is mainly used to move back and forth with equipment inside the drag chain. It is a cable specifically designed to cope with repeated bending scenarios. If ordinary cables are bent back and forth for a long time, the copper wires inside are easily broken, while flexible chain cables are designed to be softer and can adapt to continuous reciprocating motion.

Many automation equipment will install cables into plastic or metal support chains, which move back and forth with the robotic arm and mobile slide table to protect the cables from being pulled or tangled. Flexible chain cable is placed inside the chain and is responsible for transmitting power or signals. Every time the device moves, the cable bends along with it, which may repeat thousands of times a day.

Its internal wires are made finer, twisted together in multiple strands, and paired with resilient insulation and outer skin materials for stronger fatigue resistance. The outer skin can also resist friction and reduce wear caused by long-term contact with the inner wall of the chain support. If replaced with regular cables, it won't be long before there will be wire breakage and outer skin cracking, causing the equipment to shut down.

Flexible chain cables can simultaneously supply power and transmit signals, ensuring that power and signals will not be interrupted during equipment movement. As long as the equipment travel is selected reasonably and the bending radius is controlled well, it can continuously move with the equipment for a long time, ensuring the stable operation of the automated production line.
